This recipe is perfect for curbing those hunger pangs. It’s perfect comfort food for any day of the week. It’s easy to make and tastes simply delicious. I first came across this recipe on the internet and ever since I have loved it more and more. I have made a few alterations with the original recipe I found but it works for me.
Ingredients – Feeds 2-3 people
– 1 Broccoli
– 1 pack of Bacon
– 200g Cheese (grated)
– 250ml milk
– 350g Fresh pasta (Healthier than normal pasta as it is egg based)
– 2tbsp Butter
– 1tbsp Oil
– 2tbsp Plain flour
So this recipe can be difficult if you don’t get your timings right and you’re not organised. So the first thing you need to do is put the oven on and turn it to 180c. Then put the pasta on to cook. As you’re using fresh pasta don’t forget it only takes around 6 minutes to cook so you really need to keep your timings right. In separate pans, use the oil to cook the bacon and in the other, cook the broccoli. It doesn’t matter if you cook the bacon first as it will heat up in the oven later.
After you sort out the pasta, bacon and broccoli grab another pan and put in the butter. After it melts add the flour and stir until you get a paste. Then add the milk a little bit at a time. Once smooth add 2 thirds of the grated cheese and stir. Then season with salt and pepper.
Once everything is cooked mix everything in a big enough bowl. Pop into a casserole dish, sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top and put into the oven for 10 minutes.
