With more and more of us getting busier in our weeks it can be difficult to pamper yourself and have some ‘me’ time. Personally it can be a bit hard to fit around the usual tasks of nail painting, applying face masks and being honest, washing my hair. Come 9 or 10 o’clock you could find me rushing in the shower to wash my hair just before a big day. Having to fit university, a full-time job, blogging and assignments I do struggle to balance the lot.
If you’ve recently read my post on having a miniature pamper session then you will know how to try and squeeze in everything but this time I wanted to write about how to last another day. If you’re wondering what I mean about lasting another day, I mean how to prolong washing your hair, how to make your nails look amazing without any nail polish and how to make your skin look incredible even after not using a mask in over a week. Here are my tips and tricks to making your beauty pamper session last another day…
Dry shampoo. When you’ve gone 2 days without washing your hair it can start to become a bit greasy, especially if you have fine hair like me. Dry shampoo can be the best essential when it comes to refreshing the hair to fit in another day. Just simply spray around the roots and you’re good to go the rest of the day. If you don’t have any products then use talcum powder. This may seem strange but add a small amount of powder around the roots and rub in to get rid of the white and it’s like you’ve just washed your hair. Personally I love using Garnier Ultimate Blends Dry Shampoo as it smells amazing with its Madagascan Vanilla extracts. If I run out then I simply reach for the talcum powder.
Cuticle oils. If you don’t have any time to paint your nails then a little pre-treatment of using cuticle oils can really make your nails stand out for a different reason other than colourful colours. Personally, being a waitress I’m not really allowed to paint my nails in case it chips off and falls into a customers meal so what I tend to do instead is treat my nails giving them a subtle shine and moisture they’ve needed all week. A bonus of this is that no one can complain about the smell. My absolute favourite has to be Apricot Cuticle Oil by Essie, yummy.
Milk Cleansers. If you haven’t got the time to apply a face mask then my personal alternative is a milk cleanser. Milk cleansers are used to polish the surface of the skin without actually doing any work underneath the skin. Simply apply the milk cleanser to the skin but do not allow it to soak in as you’re just using it to moisturize and cleanse the surface. It still has the same outcome of moisturizing the skin and making it look brighter. My personal favourite has to be Superdrug’s new skincare range, Clearly youthful and it’s AHA/BHA exfoliating cream cleanser product. This product is ideal for acne and ageing and claims to refresh and give your skin the radiance it needs.
