Well it’s the New Year and I’m sure you can all agree with me here when I say what the hell happened to 2015? That year surely went quick, did I even have a birthday?
I don’t know about you but when it comes to that time of year that lies between Christmas Day and New Year I have a sense of ‘what the hell am I doing with my life’ phase. If anyone would have to ask me what time of day it was or what day of the week it was I wouldn’t have been able to tell you. It’s like a short period of time that allows you to question everything in your life from jobs and relationships to what kind of food I’m eating and why haven’t I changed out of my PJ’s yet?
It’s barely the first week into 2016 and to be honest, I think I’m still in that phase. But it has got me thinking about what I want to achieve this year and how badly I want it. Like every year we all set ourselves up for failure even before we’ve began. So most of us want to lose more weight, stop drinking and well, more blah, blah, blah nonsense. To be honest I guess these can be done but to set yourself up for such a big and non realistic goal is just asking for trouble. So why don’t we keep it minimal?
If you normally write a list as long as your arm telling yourself to start/stop doing things and it seems to be the same every year then we need to come up with a new plan. So be realistic with your goals even if it’s stop biting nails or enjoy yourself a bit more. Things that seem so small that when they are accomplished you’re just too happy to even care.
So welcome to 2016 and have some fun, think about yourself and stop making weight an issue. See you next week.
