Every now and again I come across a product I absolutely love and it just changes the way I put myself together. I make more of an effect, I spend a little more time on my make-up, I style my hair and my outfit seems to be more carefully thought out. A few products I’ve recently tried, including one amazing lip crayon, has set me up ready to take on spring. As soon as I applied Beautypie Powderstick Matte Lip Crayon in the shade Guilty Girl (£3.46 for members) I instantly fell in love. Usually when I look at matte crayons or lipsticks I get turned off with the thought of dry lips, but this glided on easily and nourished my lips with an added bonus of making them look fuller. Definitely the perfect spring addition.
If you follow me and have read my previous posts, you’ll already know that I’m a sucker when it comes to foundation so I’m always buying new products. One that I’ve seen around and has recently stocked in Boots is the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in sahde 1 (£12.50) a light texture foundation that gives a medium coverage. Its reminded me of when I naturally had clear and a dewy glow to my skin – which given the fact I have scarred and acne skin, is a dream to have once again. It lasts throughout the day and is something you can’t even feel. If my skin is a little on the dry side I prefer to mix this with another favourite, Beautypie Micro-Mineral Serum Foundation (£5.27 for members) another lightweight liquid that helps hydrate the skin as well as giving you light coverage – perfect for those clear skin days. Mixed together gives you the perfect finish with enough coverage to last through the current weather conditions, all weathers in one day!
On its own the foundation is great for keeping my skin even, covered and naturally dewy. I tend to go for this on its own when I want to achieve that ‘no make-up’ make-up look but I would definitely mix the two if you want full coverage, a dewy finish, light feel and an all round natural look. Another product I’ve been trying but not come to a final conclusion yet is the Collection Speedy Blush in the shade Pinch Me (£3.99). It applies easily and blends perfectly but in order to get a full swatch you do have a use quite a lot otherwise it will give you a subtle hint of colour that can be hidden underneath powder. Its shimmery formula doesn’t dry out your complexion and isn’t overpowering but again you do have to apply a lot if you still want to see it after the rest of your make-up products. What did you think of the blush?
