Ive recently shared with you my on-flight essentials on skincare, which can pretty much be used throughout the rest of your holiday, but when it comes to a cleanser I like to have more than one choice. Depending on where you’re travelling to you know the weather is going to be completely different to what you’re used to and your skin is going to hate it, or love it. Usually on holiday my complexion will decide whether it’s going to go into an oily downward spiral, or have the most dry skin it almost hurts. So, packing a few travel friendly cleansers will allow you to soothe, hydrate and balance your skin’s natural pH level. Sometimes, one cleanser just isn’t enough.
Cleansing creams, gels, oils, balms, foaming washes and even wipes are all products some of us favour when it comes to taking off our make-up at the end of the day and giving our complexions a good cleanse, but I’ve recently been alternating between different Urban Veda cleansing gels depending on what my skin’s like.
When I’ve been on a long flight, even after my on-flight routine, I will always still land with the most horrible, dry and dull looking skin so as soon as I get to my accommodation I like to wash my face. For the days my skin is simply screaming for help in the hydration department the Urban Veda Daily Radiance Facial Wash (£12.99, 150ml), is amazing for getting rid of every trace of make-up whilst providing just enough moisture to keep my skin hydrated. This cleanser is also great for acne due to its turmeric contents – an inflammatory property to help soothe and calm flared up blemishes. I love how nourished and vibrant my skin looks and a little really does go a long way.
On the days my complexion feels a bit sore, tired and also when my acne is flaring up, I opt for the Urban Veda Daily Soothing Facial Wash (£12.99, 150ml), a very soothing and revitalising cleanser that seems to instantly calm and cool down my skin whilst awakening my senses at the same time. The calming lavender and the powering geranium and sandalwood feels and smells relaxing and is always my night time pick of cleansers that helps to balance everything in just the right way. I usually double cleanse and so I would use this first before going in for a cream based cleanser.
Some days when there’s just not enough time and I’m needing to rush out the door, I will cleanse my face in the shower and on the days my combination skin is more on the oily side, I use the Urban Veda Daily Purifying Facial Wash (£12.99, 150ml). This is the cleanser I use the most out of the three and have even got the bigger version because during summer my skin seems to become more oily so it’s always the first pick. It doesn’t dry out the skin, it doesn’t just smear the excess sebum around and it doesn’t need much skincare afterwards. Great for when I’m in a rush.
